Adchemy hiring a Search Engine Marketing Director

Veterans of my blog know the last thing I’m going to do is start posting every job opportunity in online marketing. There are thousands of companies with enough need for experienced and inexperienced talent to keep most of our careers secure. That said, not that I’ve gone startup, I recognize how difficult it is to get your opportunity above the noise to reach the truly talented professionals needed so desperately by bootstrapped companies.

Our friends down at Adchemy, a top-tier VC funded online marketing firm in Redwood City, CA, need an exceptional search marketer. The ideal in a startup environment is someone who can manage the pace and demands of a high growth venture with limited resources. The rewards can often be substantial (in experience as much as financially) but are not without risk.

Adchemy has developed a paid search management platform leveraging statistical machine learning, combinatorial optimization, information retrieval, and experimental design to acquire high-quality actions at consistently high volumes (sounds a little like the technology behind our own search engine). That is a tremendous experiential reward. They need someone who can operate that growing business; someone who can plan, create, and manage campaigns across multiple market verticals.

They’ve asked for referrals that matches the following qualifications:
* Operating a growing, high volume, profitable PPC search business.
* Prior experience growing and managing a team
* An aggressive - results focus.
* Experience at both start ups and growth companies.
* A proven track record of success.

So why am I willing to promote a job this time? I know what they’re going through, they are close to home, and the technology they’ve developed is impressive such that I wouldn’t mind an inside track on what they’re doing
